Merging teams after business merger
Situation: 
A regional airline acquired a competing airline in a business merger thus expanding its territory, aircrafts and number of employees.
The Challenges: 
  • To bring management teams from the two airlines to work seamlessly together.

  • To help both teams adapt and ensure a mutual vision for the new organization.

  • To update the strategic plan.

Actions Taken: 
  • Designed and facilitated Strategic Planning with the new management team in order to:

    • Created a shared mission, values and vision for the merged organization.
    • Assessed internal strengths and weaknesses as well as opportunities and threats facing the new organization and merger.
    • Established measurable targets by setting goals and developing plans to reach them.
    • Developed strategies and action plans to achieve the vision and targets.
    • Updated the strategic plan five years later, involving the Board of Directors and a wider group of employees.
The Results: 
  • Sessions created synergy and helped the management team to think and operate as one company.

  • Strengthened an alliance between the management and board of directors to make current and future changes easier to address.
